The Naked Truth

Kim Kardashian and Joy Bryant decided to pose in the nude, NO PHOTOSHOP, NO RETOUCHING - Au Natural for Harper's Bazaar.

All I can say is WOW!!! Forget Photoshop, they would have to take a spray can for me!

"You'll never be thin enough, blonde enough, black enough..." —Joy Bryant

"The message is embrace your curves and who you are..." —Kim Kardashian

(By the way, there was a delay with the blog because I am changing the layout, logo etc. however, that is still at work, and I didn't want to have you all waiting any longer - so I decided to post until the changes have been made. Thanks for your patience and again for your support!!)

Not just flip flops!

Fans of Haivainas are in luck! The company known for flip flops have ventured off into canvas sneakers and espradrilles.  They were introduced this week at Harrod's of London. What do you think? Should they stick to flip flops, or will you be waiting for these to touchdown in the States? Price tag: $55

My opinion: I actually love the canvas sneakers, now waiting patiently for them to make it to the United States (probably not) but they are cute, and I love the little flip flop tassel.

Now the espradrilles are COMPLETELY different story! Hated them!

"Out here in these streets": Side of Style

Continuing on with my new weekly feature, yeah I know I was supposed to do this Friday.. but I had an ABSOLUTE grand time yesterday and no technology was involved! I'm baaaaack!

So let's get with it!

SIDE OF STYLE became official October 2008

So what is "Side of Style"??? So I asked the Stylist Key to give me her thoughts.... and here is what she said

Of course it would be nice to be a CELEB STYLIST...I mean who would not want that? I've never styled a celeb (cough*Would love to style Solange Knowles, I admire her boldness*cough) and that's no biggie to me because my focus isn't the CELEB but the EVERYDAY woman...I find joy in serving the everyday woman with star treatment! One of my mottos is "From models to mamas, to mamas who model...SIDE OF STYLE has that work for EVERYBODY!!!" And that's my focus...to style and serve anybody whose interested in doing business with me. This is something I've been wanting for so long and as a sitting-in-rush-hour-traffic-every morning/evening-9 to 5er myself I know the daily grind first hand! I also know how the everyday hustle and bustle can wear a chic out to the point where she do not want to find anything to wear to happy hour, clubs, concerts, etc. And that's where I started...no training or fashion school, I feel wardrobe styling isn't something that can be taught...it's a talent you're blessed with and I'm happy to even THINK I was born with this gift...it's like being a wardrobe artist more than anything. I started being there to assist the everyday working woman by pulling looks, labeling, and bagging items together for the client's future use.  After becoming obsessed with doing that I started to buy shoes in various sizes, clothing in sizes XS to XXXL, and place them in bins or "kits" as I like to call them (Every item on the photos in my portfolio come from my styling kits). That way when a client needs something, even an idea, I'd have the pieces on hand to display. After filling about 4 or 5 kits full of goodies I decided to start SIDE OF STYLE...made it a legit business in Fall 2008! I'm super excited about my current project, THE SIDE OF STYLE'S MOTHER DAY GIVEAWAY (Details on SIDE OF STYLE'S FACEBOOK) I'm very excited to style a deserving mom this Mother's Day I just want ladies to know, because a few ladies are confused with the concept, a Wardrobe Stylist doesn't mean you're style starved and clueless to fashion lol! As odd as this may sound I look at my services kind of like a WELL WOMAN EXAM (WTH right? lol)...I'm here to make something women may feel they know so well...I'm here to make it even better and possibly lead females to a whole new way of thinking when it comes to personal style! To the men out there, PLEASE forgive me, I keep mentioning women but SIDE OF STYLE has that work for the fellas too!
