America's Next Top Model Cycle 12

Cycle 12 airs Feb. 25! Here is a sneak peek of the new models. Although, I must say I'm going to need Trya to either take a break with this show, or create a new twist, just do something else. Its getting pretty boring, I couldn't even begin to tell you Cycle 11's winner. However, I know there are still some die-hard fans so here you go.............................

Are they serious????

Apparently, everyone was not happy with Mrs. Obama's (yes our First Lady) selection of fashions that she wore during the inauguration events. Especially,  Amnau Eele the co-founder of the Black Artists Association. According to the Chicago Sun-Times, she told fashion industry publication Women's Wear Daily she plans to "file a formal appeal" with Michelle Obama's office about the lack of a black designer.

"Its fine and good if you want to be all 'Kumbaya" and 'We are the World' by representing all different countries. But if you are going to have Isabel Toledo do the inauguration dress and Jason Wu do the evening gown, why not have Kevan Hall, B. Michael, Stephen Burrows or any of the other black designers do something too?" - source wwd.com (Women's Wear Daily online publication)

SERIOUSLY???????????? I mean really? Why? Because she is black, now she has to do everything black? What if she didn't like any of the their designs? What if she doesn't like them as designers?  I can't even believe people are making noise about this - well apparently designer B. Michael feels as I do - he issued the following press release

"For the record I would like to state that the statement made on behalf of the Black Artists Association does not represent my point of view.  I personally believe it is an unfair expectation to place on the First Lady. Fashion is subjective and a matter of personal choice.  As a designer of Color I would encourage the fashion industry, editors and media to lead the way and be more inclusive. True change in America is going to be a collective effort. As an American Designer I am excite that Mrs. Obama, in her role as the First Lady, will heighten the awareness of American style which resonates into business and jobs in the fashion industry. I applaud Mrs. Obama for her style and choices. Most of all for wearing what really matters, dignity and grace."

WELL SAID B. Michael!

Well it wouldn't be right if someone couldn't find a cause in something - too bad its over silliness.  - I mean really she is about to file a formal appeal????

SAG Awards Fashions

The SAG Awards were held last night in Los Angeles, and although I didn't watch the show - I did check out the Red Carpet (I mean what else do you watch these boring award shows for? The awards?)

LUVS IT!!!

Christina Applegate - she looked like an updated, refined Madonna in the "Like A Virgin" days. I loved the color and the style of the dress by Emanuel Ungaro.

Taraji Henson looked absolutely STUNNING in a white body hugging gown, courtesy of Herve Leroux. Although, whose idea was it to have her rock just an everyday hairstyle?? That totally killed the outfit for me.

Another Fave was Kate Winslet! Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous.  Narcisco Rodriguez is really a master at creating very feminine silhouettes.

Rounding out my favs is Anne Hathaway - this beautiful grecian inspired gown by Azzaro looked fabulous on her.

HATES IT!!!!!!

It was obvious that the women of "Wysteria Lane" were in cahoots, and they were all vying for the worst dress of the night (now thats teamwork) - because they all looked a mess! (I don't really need to give a commentary on each one - the pictures say it all)

Angie, ok Angie, I'm going to need you to eat! Everything she wears looks like a potato sack - albeit gorgeous as she is, the anorexic look is not where it is (oh yeah that goes for Katie Hudson, Rosario Dawson, and Terri Hatcher - skinny is not CUTE!)
J-Lo would have KILLED  in this dress by Max Azaria.

"America the Beautiful" hmm Not! She looked stunning in the face, the dress however looked like rags. The fact that it was "someone's" bright idea to ruin a Vera Wang with the black chiffon, was just unnaceptable. It totally ruined the dress.

And there you have it...
Although some were beautiful, not too much of the WOW factor in last nights fashions.

Kanye unveils new sneaker for LV

Kanye West unveiled his new sneaker at the Louis Vuitton Fashion show during Paris Fashion Week Menswear Autumn/Winter 2009, which was held yesterday (1/22).
Hmmmm looks like a slim version of the classic Air Force One's -  I would need to see it in person to give my final opinion. Check out Marc!! Sorry Marc but you look a damn fool with those "Sprouse" tights - but I'm loving his new look (face and body wise) he doesn't look like the nerdy, grungy little boy anymore.

What do you all think about the shoes?? Do you think Kanye is that much of a trendsetter to get to design his own line for such a timeless brand?????
