This is better than the invention of SLICED bread! Pt. 1

What's better than sliced bread you ask?

I'll tell you - Jeans that absolutely, positively, fit!!!

Women, and even men are always on the hunt for a great fitting pair of jeans , sometimes it like digging for gold. You hunt, you try on many different styles, washes, fits and when you find a pair, its like hitting the jackpot! There is absolutely nothing better than a great fitting pair of jeans.

So here at Fashion Revolutionaire, we are going to take a shot at helping you find a great fitting pair, for your body type.

First you have to identify your body type, now of course you may have characteristics of more than one body type, but select the one that is MOST like your body type

Pear Shapes:

If you have rounded hips and ample backyard, with narrow shoulders and a small bust. More than likely you fit this category. You tend to gain weight in your rump and thighs, unfortunately you are your prone to those damn saddlebags, however you typically have a relatively flat stomach and your waists are small. Your main goal is to make your body look proportionate in your clothes.

Revolutionaires Do's for Pear Shapes

Boot Cut and flared jeans - gives the appearance of a long lean look

Dark washes

Denim with stretch - will give more comfort and room

If you have a bit more tummy than you would like- look for higher waist styles

Kristin Davis is a pear shape, and this is a great DO picture. The high waist jean, in dark denim, with wide legs, balances her shape out perfectly.

Pear Dont's

Avoid the dreaded "muffin top" at all cost - make sure that the waist band does not cut into your hips

Say no to embillishments on back pockets

So no to jeans that are tapered at the ankle

and say HELL NO to Skinny and Fitted Jeans - reason being, those 2 styles will fit tight at your hips, thighs, and rump.

Apple shapes:

Typically known as the "top heavy" body type. Where most of the weight is carried in the upper half of your body, you are fuller in the bust, waist and upper back. Your lower half tends to be more narrow - smaller thighs, long lean legs.. and a flatter rump. Your goal is to demphasize your waist, make your hips appear wider, and your rump curvier.

Sherri Shepherd is a perfect example of an Apple body shape (and she's usually all the way wrong with her clothing choices - however not jeans, she did okay in this pcture)

Apple Do's

Embellishments and details on the pocket are a must for you - it creates a distraction below the torso

Higher waist styles - remember we are always trying to avoid the muffin top.

Skinny jeans - high waist skinny styles are perfect the accentuate your long legs, and demphasize your waist.

Apple Dont's

AVOID low rise and ultra low jeans at all costs!!!!!!!!

Baggy jeans - they just do nothing for your figure.

Avoid very fitted tops with tight or fitted jeans.. now you know that just sounds wrong, so imagine what it looks like.

so did that peak your interest a little bit? Did it help anyone? I know some of you are like DANG they didnt discuss my body shape!! Hold your horses Revolutionaire - stay tuned for part 2!!!!

Are you kidding me????

I seriously want apparel companies to stop giving these celebs (from a-list to d-list) their own clothing lines. So maybe you look hot on all the red carpet pictures, and during public appearances, all thanks to your stylist of course. But maybe it's your stylist that should be launching a clothing line, and not you?? Hmmmm

Ms. Aubrey O'Day of Danity Kane has launched a new clothing line 'Heart on my sleeve" (yes, I was thinking the exact same thing) featuring t-shirts, hoodies, undies, and accessories for both men, and women.

Now I think the entire line is a hot a%^ mess, but that's just my humble opinion. You judge for yourself.

OKAY, OKAY, OKAY! I wont torture you any longer. Soooooooooooooooooooo what did u you think? Is this going to be the hottest thing thats hitting the streets or what??? I think my question is.. why does that guy have a badunkadunk????? Like I literally kept going back to his picture like what the heck? His butt is like a perfect heart shape!!!

Ok moving on..

Now some people know that I am a fan of Kimora Lee (not her clothing line, but of her ) however I really wish someone would tell her to stop. KIMORA, enough ALREADY.. now if Baby Phat wasnt enough, , she decides to unleash another monstrosity of a line to the public called Fabulosity. Fabulosity is apparently for those who want the "Baby Phat" look, without the "Baby Phat" price. Seriously, Kimora. Are you kidding me??

If for some ODD reason, you love any of these pieces, you can check them out at JCPenney's.

And the lesson for today is............... anyone can start a clothing line.

Fun Fashion for Kids

This blog is dedicated to all the moms out there who have little fashionistas in the making. If you love fashion, then it is inevitable you may consciously or unconsciously influence any little people in your lives. Here are some things that I love and would like to share with you!

Gwen Stefani is one of my favorite designers and when I see Kingston's style, one word comes to mind...ADORABLE! In case you have not seen Gweny's line of kids shoes, you are missing out on some super cute stuff. Here are a pair of my favorites.

L.A.M.B Katella $69

These are so trendy and can be thrown on with anything from skirts to jeans. L.A.M.B for kids can be found at shoebuy.com, zappos.com or Saks

It is definitely the year to get political and what better way to get attention for your favorite candidate by putting a cute Tee on your kid? Cafe Press has a ton of choices. I prefer to make a statement but keep it simple.

cafepress.com

$18

I love Uggs and I especially love Uggs for kids. Not only are they cute, but you can throw them on with anything. You can slip them on over tights or no socks are necessary. I know all my moms out there can appreciate the simplicity of that!! And they come is so many cool prints and colors. As J~Boogie pointed out in an earlier blog, camo is all the rage this season so to keep with the fall fashion, I have selected these Uggs as my choice for little people! What little fashionista wouldn't look killer in these???

Zappos.com

$93

Now, not only are sunglasses one of my favorite accessories for kids, but they are important for the protection of their eyes. Ray Ban is my go to guy for some adorable kiddie glasses. Check out these metallic pink shades.

Again...zappos.com

$63

** I love Zappos BTW, in case you haven't noticed and...did I mention, they ship super fast and the shipping is always FREE?!

Paul Frank is sooooooooooooo cute for kids. The style is so childlike, yet very trendy. Hoodies are another go to item I think all kids should have in their closet. These unisex Paul Frank hoodies are another fav of mine.

tuttibella.com

$48.95

Vintage Tees are just COOL. (period) They are simple yet make a statement. Not only do I love them on men and women but kids that wear them look adorable too. There are so many choices here but a great throw back represents something great from the past. What is greater than the Beetles?

John Lennon vintage T-shirt

Shopkitson.com

$48

I could write books about fashion for kids! I love dressing my little person and I hope you found some fun inspiration from some of the things I love!

Nobody's Doing That!

The views and opinions expressed in this page are strictly those of the author. The contents of this page have not been reviewed or approved by Fashion Revolutionaire!

This one may hit close to home for some....hence the disclaimer at the top of the page. These are only my opinions and what I claim to be Fashion Faux Paus. If you look in the mirror and see any of the citations I list below..then in the words of Jerry Maguire..."help me help you!"

Ok...here we go....

The worst of the worst...."Muffin-top"!!! Muffin-top is a generally pejorative slang term used to describe the phenomenon of overhanging flesh when it spills over the waistline of trousers or skirt in a manner that resembles the top of a muffin spilling over its paper casing. This generally occurs when an individual wears low-rise, hip-hugger pants, or midriff-baring tops that are too small.

In case that doesn't define it for you..here is a pic. I love this picture because this is NOT a big girl. This means that the muffin top epidemic can strike anyone of any size. It does not discriminate!

So let's strike back Ladies and Gentleman! Loosen up those pants, lose that belt and rid yourself of the plague known as muffin-top!!

#2. There are so many things that can go wrong when you decide to wear a pair of jeans. It hurts my heart to see good jeans gone bad so please read my tips below and know that I am only trying to make the world a prettier place....cause there is almost nothing prettier than rockin a fabulous pair of jeans....

* Creases in jeans...two words: Hellz No!

There is no need to write a lot about this...it is just not cute. Less is more and this looks like you are trying waaaaayyy to hard.

I saw this one the other day and I could NOT beleive it! I had no idea this was still going on and I am sure all my fashionistas are not performing this crude act, but IF you are, STOP right now!!!

Cropped jeans with boots! UGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHH....the worst. Just disgraceful.

NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO!

Enough said.

Last but never ever least are a few misc. tips for you.

If you are blessed in the gluteus maximus area (yep...my big booty girls) Puleez do not bedazzle your pockets. Sorry girls, but bling on the butt is not for you. No pockets that flap over, no jewels , and no embelishments. Just keep it simple, you are accessorized enough..if you know what I mean (wink wink).

And my personal worst jean pet peeve ever!! Make sure your jeans are the correct length. If you are wearing your True Religions with flats, then you absolutely should not be wearing them with your stilettos...they cannot be the right length for BOTH. The hem of your jeans should just touch the floor in whichever shoes to choose to wear.

That's it for today Fashionistas. Enjoy your weekend and remember, you don't have to look through Coco Chanel's aviators to see "NOBODY IS DOING THAT!"

Americas Next Top Model - Cycle 11

I told you we talk about everything on here right??? Ok good!!
Now Cycle 11 is about to start - are we tired of this show yet?? I will have to admit, I am a bit tired of it, I couldnt even tell you who won last season. But since I know there are still many fans of this show, I decided to dedicate my blog to ANTM.
The new season starts September 3rd on the CW Network. This season, should be "full of drama" they will have their first transgender model.
Lets take a look at the new girls.

So what do you all think?? And Can you guess who is the transgender model???
hmmm until next time
(hopefully I have some fashion to share that has inspired me to write) LOL!
